Drivers unharmed after Robbins crash

Just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, first responders were called to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Lakey Siding Road and North Moore Road outside of Robbins.

A northern Moore County EMS base, which is less than 200 yards from the site of the crash, responded quickly but was not needed. Both male drivers involved walked away without injuries.

According to officials, the driver of the Nissan Xterra was traveling toward Robbins on North Moore Road when he collided with the driver of a Toyota Corolla. The Corolla was traveling across North Moore Road from Reynolds Mill Road onto Lakey Siding Road at the time of the collision.

Heavy damage occurred to the rear of the Toyota, and glass from the rear window extended along the side of the road. The Nissan rested on the left shoulder and had moderate damage to the left front.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause.

Robbins Fire and Rescue, as well as the Moore County Sheriff’s Department, also responded to the scene to assist in cleanup and traffic control.
