Five elected to O’Neal’s Honor Council

Five upper school students were elected to O’Neal’s Honor Council recently.

They are sophomores Max Pashley and Harrison Franklin, juniors Luke Harper and Audrey Kim and senior Oliver Simpson. They join junior Tylar Pastre and senior Kanye McKeithen.

Ten candidates, the maximum allowed on the student ballot, pitched their campaign message before their peers earlier in the week. The elected students were recognized before their peers at an upper school morning meeting. They will be formally inducted to the Honor Council during the Honor Code Signing Ceremony on September 22.

The Honor Council is student-administered and guided by an advisor. It seeks to uphold the school’s mission statement and philosophies by promoting these characteristics while also dealing with those activities that are contrary to the school’s Honor Code.

Honor Council Advisor David Williamson recognized the election winners before their peers on Thursday, Aug. 25 during an upper school morning meeting.
