Foxfire man charged with 2 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor

A Foxfire man is facing charges of two counts of felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Sheriff Ronnie Fields said Bruce Peterson was given a $75,000 unsecured bond after being arrested following an investigation in Foxfire on Thursday.

“On March 30, 2023, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated an undercover investigation after receiving information of an individual possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM),” said Fields in a statement. “On June 1, 2023, the Moore County Sheriff arrested Bruce Charles Peterson, 59 years old, of Woodland Circle, Foxfire, North Carolina.”

Peterson’s court date is set for June 7.

“The Moore County Sheriff’s Office is an active member of the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce,” said Fields.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
