Aberdeen man sentenced to 8 years for felony death by motor vehicle in DWI crash

A multi-agency operation has yielded the arrest of eight people, said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a Wednesday news release.

Search warrants were executed by the sheriff’s office and Aberdeen Police Department with the assistance of Foxfire Police Department for two Aberdeen homes in the 200 block of Benjamin Street and in the 200 block of Hatley Street.

Authorities seized 35 grams of cocaine, 141 grams of marijuana, one dosage unit of MDMA/Ecstasy, one dosage unit of Suboxone, a firearm, drug paraphernalia, and $1,875 in cash.

The sheriff’s department estimates the street value of the drugs to be $4,943.

Arrested were Travis Jermaine Core, 35, and Javon D’Andre Drakeford, 20, both of Aberdeen; Duane Malcolm Jackson, 32, of Carthage; Tony DMario Williams, 30, of Pinehurst; Raymond Joseph Marsh, 32, of West End; Eric Andreas Ratliff, 38, of Southern Pines; Victor Fontain McLaurin, 38, of Raeford; and Naphish Shajar’el Vincent, 20, of Fayetteville.

“The search warrants were executed in conclusion of a joint drug investigation with Aberdeen Police Department,” said Sheriff Fields.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
