A mobile home collapsed on a man on Ridgewood Drive in Southern Pines.
Authorities were dispatched just before noon Tuesday to a traumatic injury. When they arrived on the scene, they found the mobile home had fallen on the man when a jack fell.
The man works for Hudson Homes in Aberdeen. The company was in the stages of breaking down the mobile home to move.
“He saved my life,” said a worker. “He told me to come out in case a jack fell. By the time I got out, a jack fell, and the home collapsed on him.”
Another employee said, “We heard it, and there was nothing we could do.”
A landing zone was set up at the ballfield at Memorial Park in Southern Pines. The man was airlifted by MedCenter Air to a local trauma center.
“The patient was alert. His condition is unknown but not believed to be life-threatening,” said Southern Pines Fire Chief Mike Cameron.
Responding to the scene were Southern Pines Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Southern Pines Police Department.
