A man was arrested for DWI after crashing his pickup truck in an Aberdeen neighborhood Saturday morning. The accident occurred on N. Chapin Road in the Forest Hills subdivision at 10 a.m.
Christopher Malan, Jr., 33, of Pinebluff, lost control at a curve and crashed his truck into a tree off the road. The Ford 150 suffered extensive front end damage. Malan was evaluated by EMS at the scene and did not require transportation by EMS.
Christopher Malan, Jr., of Pinebluff, was placed in Moore County Detention Center for DWI.
The posted speed limit in the neighborhood is 25 mph. A resident in the area was walking his dogs when he saw the truck crash. The resident said just a few minutes earlier, he and his dogs were walking in the exact area the truck crashed.
Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Aberdeen Police.
