McDeeds Creek Elementary principal charged DWI

The McDeeds Creek Elementary School Principal is facing several charges after being arrested for driving while impaired.

Dr. Molly Warner Capps, 36, was arrested on April 28. She is facing charges of driving while impaired, failure to secure a passenger under 16, two counts of misdemeanor child abuse, and reckless driving to endanger, according to information from the North Carolina Courts.

According to a Pinehurst Police report, Capps was “ejected from golf cart from DWI.”

Capps has a Pinehurst address listed as her residence.

Capps has been with Moore County Schools since 2012 and was named as the McDeeds Creek Elementary School Principal in 2018, according to Moore County Schools. The school opened in 2019. She was previously the principal for Aberdeen Primary School for four years. She began her career with the school system as an English Language Arts K-12 Curriculum Specialist.

Sandhills Sentinel reached out to the school district for a comment but has not received a response at this time.

She is scheduled to appear in court on August 5 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
