A Carthage man was arrested on June 19, 2017 for stealing cars and farm equipment in Chatham County, according to a news release from Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

Kevin Wayne Crabtree, 34, was arrested at his home in the 100 block of Waynes Road in Carthage when deputies discovered the stolen property after a joint investigation involving both Moore and Chatham County Sheriff’s Departments. Crabtree is charged with three counts of felony larceny of a motor vehicle, three counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, two counts of the felony possession of stolen goods, one count of felony larceny, one count of felony conspiracy to commit larceny, one count of the felony accessory after the fact and one count of misdemeanor possession of stolen goods according to Sheriff Neil Godfrey.  

Crabtree was placed in the Moore County Detention Center following his arrest, and was placed under a $55,000 secured bond with a scheduled court date on July 26th.
