Idea Challenge is Moore County Schools’ version of “Shark Tank”. Students are judged on their business ideas by community leaders. Students must be a current or former Career and Technical Education student or a member of a Career and Technical Student Organization to qualify for the contest. The Idea Challenge event gives students skills in marketing, entrepreneurship, and formal presentations. A total of 16 students participated; four as individuals and the rest in two or three-person teams. Some of the ideas presented were a premium pet food delivery, a moving company, a healthy food truck, natural smoothies, motorized shopping carts that helps you find things, full service skate park, and items made out duct tape such as a prom dress. The event took place on Thursday morning, May 18th from 9:30-12:00 pm, with the awards ceremony after 1:00. It was held at Little River Golf and Resort in Carthage.
