A two-vehicle accident sent several people to the hospital Saturday afternoon in Aberdeen. The accident occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and U.S. Highway 15-501 in front of CVS.
The accident left one car in the road with extensive front-end damage, and the second vehicle was off the road partially into a parking lot with extensive damage to the driver’s side of the car.
Upon arrival, firefighters had to use hydraulic tools to remove the driver’s door to gain access to one of the victims. Four victims were treated and transported by EMS to Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. None of the victims had life-threatening injuries.
Northbound traffic on U.S. 1 was rerouted while emergency crews worked. Aberdeen Police were on the scene and will be investigating the cause of the accident.
Responding to the accident were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Aberdeen Police.
