Belle Elizabeth Caviness Wooten, (fondly known as Pinkie) age 91, passed away peacefully July 19, 2019 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.  She was born August 13, 1927 daughter of Wesley Dwight Caviness and Belle Pleasants Caviness in Aberdeen, North Carolina.  She eloped and married the love of her life, William (Bill) T. Wooten, in October of 1945.   

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.

A 1946 graduate of Peace College in Raleigh, she went on to pursue a career as an executive secretary/assistant with The Aberdeen & Rockfish Railroad, Ameritron, and Deering Milliken in Aberdeen.  She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in their yard, winning the Garden Club Award for several years in Aberdeen. Her hobby of growing many varieties of azaleas and rhododendron grew into a small backyard business which gave her years of pleasure. She enjoyed playing bridge, spending time with friends and family, vacations at Holden Beach, the mountains, and Lake Tillery sharing a love for boating and water skiing with family.   

She is survived by her daughters, Linda W. Pike, Ann Wooten Kunce, son-in-law Gary C. Kunce, granddaughters Katie P. Starck (Paul), Emily C. Pike, Wendy S. Wadsworth (Bobby), grandson Jody Sutton, and great-grandchildren Connor William Starck, Ethan Anthony Starck, Triston A. Wadsworth, and MaKenzie Wadsworth and her long-time best friend, Penny Benoist. 

She is predeceased by her husband of 68 years and her daughter Virginia W. (Jenny) Sutton.
