Catherine Velera Tapp passed away in her sleep at the tender age of 1 month and 23 days on November 29, 2019.  Little “Cat” was the joy of her parent’s life, and she will continue to be in their hearts forever. The family was blessed to have had a beautiful Thanksgiving celebration on the Thursday before her sudden passing, where little Cat shared her beautiful smile with all of her family, and spread her joy to everyone the entire day.

She was born October 6, 2019 to Allison Claire Johnson and John William Tapp of Fayetteville, who survive. Catherine is also survived by her Grandparents; Nancy and Barry Tapp of Raeford, John and Erin Heckethorn of Pinehurst, Christopher and Kaleigh Johnson of Autryville; Great-Grandparents Dave and Kathy Leuck of Pinehurst and Tom and Vicki Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri. Catherine will also be dearly missed by her Uncle Ian Johnson of Atlantic Beach; Aunt Velera Wyrick and husband Steve of Aberdeen, and their two boys, Aiden and Nathan Wyrick. Catherine also has a multitude of extended family and friends whose lives she touched in her short time here on earth.

Visitation will be at Boles funeral home 425 Pennsylvania Avenue, Southern Pines, NC at 2:00pm Friday, December 6, 2019.  A service will follow at 3:30 pm, officiated by David Johnson of Indiana.

The family would like to thank the many friends and loved ones who have assisted over the past week, and request any memorial donations are made to the American SIDS institute at www.sids.org to aid in research for all of the grieving parents of the 2500 SIDS infants in the US who succumb annually to this tragedy.  Prayers in the coming months for peace would also be appreciated.
