David Carl Johnson was born May 10, 1965 in Caracas, Venezuela, to Bertil and Vernes Johnson while they served as missionaries. He passed away surrounded by loving family on October 22, 2018 following an eight-month battle against brain cancer.

David is survived by his children: his son Nathan (wife Noelle, daughter Anabelle), his daughter Abby (fiancé Kyle), and his daughter Melissa (husband Tim). He is also survived by his father (Bert) and four siblings (Elizabeth, Victoria, Rachel, and Joel) and their families.

David was a devoted and loving father and Papa. He shared his strong faith and belief in Jesus Christ with family and friends and was a member of Macedonia Presbyterian Church in Candor. In his career as a psychologist, David worked in North Carolina prisons, education, and private practice. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially while attending hockey games.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 10 a.m.-12 noon at Boles Funeral Home in Pinehurst. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Old Bethesda Church in Aberdeen. Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery. 

In honor of David’s life, memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, Christian Healthcare Ministries, or Focus on the Family.
