Eli Jacob Hancock, 44, of Aberdeen, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at his residence.
A graveside service and internment will be held on Sunday, October 12, at 2 p.m. in Bethesda Cemetery officiated by Pastor Steve Lindsey.
Eli was born December 10, 1980, in Scotland County to Johnny Jackson Hancock, Sr. and Barbara Lee (Hunt) Hancock. He was a lifelong resident of Aberdeen and had a deep passion for all things automotive. As a talented mechanic, he spent over 15 years working alongside his father at Hancock Towing. He was loved by his family and will be deeply missed.
Eli is survived by his father, Johnny Jackson Hancock, Sr. of Aberdeen; a brother, Bobby Hancock and wife Stacie of Aberdeen; and Masen Hancock of Aberdeen; step-son, Caleb Aguilar of Aberdeen; a niece Nevaeh Hancock of Aberdeen; two aunt’s, Lisa Hunt of Seven Lakes and Jackie white of California; three uncles, David Terry of California, Carl Driggers of California, and Ken Thornton of Southern Pines. Also surviving are several cousins.
Eli was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Hancock, and a brother, John Jackson Hancock, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Eli to Samaritan Colony Inc. at 136 Samaritan Drive, Rockingham, NC 28379.
