George Raymond Tucker Jr., born on March 22, 1938, passed away peacefully to be with our Lord on November 24th. George served in the US Navy aboard the USS Forrestal from 1958 to 1962. George enjoyed ten pin bowling, golf and lawn bowling which he was a member of the United States team representing his country. He was born in South Philadelphia, Pa and lived in the area until he retired from Southco Inc Concordville, Pa.in 1998.
He and his wife Jacqueline moved to Pinehurst, NC upon retirement and traveled all over the world. He leaves behind 2 children from a previous marriage Pamela Bybell, three grandchildren Danica Lima Bybell, Grace Bybell and Brett; a son Brian Tucker and 3 grandsons Chris, Patrick and Matthew. Jackie, his wife of 43 years, and two sons Russell Clifford Harbaugh Jr. and Richard Cornell Downes and a grandson Chad Daniel Harbaugh. George was a member of the Prospect Park Masonic Lodge in Prospect Park, Pa. where his deceased father was Grand Master as well as his brother Allan Tucker. There will a memorial service for immediate family in Wilmington, Delaware and then another Celebration of Life at Southern Pines United Methodist Church in Southern Pines, NC. on December 12, 2021 at 2 pm
George loved traveling, volunteering for US Kids, North/South amateur golf events, playing lawn bowls and won the Pinehurst Singles Club Championship 7 times plus enjoying life with all his family.
