Gerald “Jerry” David Mack, age 71, of Lakeview, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 2:00pm at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Jerry was born in Durham County, North Carolina on January 22, 1953, to the late Ernie Mack and Gladys Mack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kennedy Medlin.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Tanya Medlin and husband Richard of Pinehurst; granddaughter Loralei Medlin who was the apple of his eye; sisters, Karen Robbins (Chuck), Ellen Lilley (Vince), Kim Sassano (Tony), Sandra Scott (Gary), Lori Hennings (Barry); brother, Robert Mack; nieces; nephews; Aunt Loretta Hill (James); Uncle Doyle Markham (Linda).
Jerry attended Vass-Lakeview Elementary and Union Pines High School.
His sense of adventure led him to live and work in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Moncks Corner, South Carolina; The State of Kuwait (west Asia); and Reno, Nevada. He moved back to Moore County after the birth of his granddaughter and became the best PePaw ever.
In addition to spending time with family and friends, Jerry loved cars (especially corvettes), car shows, racing, and everything related. He is probably cruising the streets of Heaven in a beautiful antique Chevy corvette.
