Joyce Bennett Mack, 68, of Southern Pines, formerly of Hamlet, passed away, Monday, February 24, 2020, at her residence.

She was born June 16, 1951, in Smithfield, SC, daughter of Waylon Jasper Bennett and Grace DeBerry Bennett.

Joyce drove a bus for Richmond County Schools for 24 years and worked at Rockingham Wal-Mart for 24 years.

She was a mother that worked two to three jobs to see her family’s needs were met, always making sure they got to scouts or any sports events they were involved in. She was always their loudest cheerer! She also enjoyed Hockey but was a true Football fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Mack; her parents; and a brother, WJ Bennett, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Brandie Markham (Jeffery) of Aberdeen; sons, Bryan Mack (Kristi) of Hague, VA and Justin Mack (Samantha) of Aberdeen; brother, Lewis Bennett (Joy) of Pinebluff; sister, Mary Moore of Holden Beach; sister-in-law, Patricia Bennett of Wilmington; ten grandchildren, Skylar Mack, Katie Bines, Caleb Bines, Matthew Bines, Baileigh Markham, Abigail Markham, Madelyn Mack, Aidan Mack, Hannah Ramsey and Brendan Ramsey; two great-grandchildren, Rory Flaherty and Carter Coleman.
