Linda Diane Craner McAuley, age 73, of Vass, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at her home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, Dec 21, 2023 at 11:00 am at Yates Thagard Baptist Church in Carthage with Pastor Steve Johnson and Pastor Sammy Frye officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Linda was born in Mansfield, Ohio on January 2, 1950 to the late Archie and Goldie Hildebrand Craner. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Pearl, Barb and Eileen and brothers, Carl and Archie.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Richard A. McAuley; daughters, Rachel Comer of Florida and Ruthann Formica (Matthew) of Arizona; sons, Stephen McAuley (Sarah) of North Carolina and Daniel McAuley (Stephanie) of North Carolina; grandchildren, Richard Mason Comer, Wesley, Zack and Sydney Formica;, Andrew, Theodore, Lincoln and William McAuley and Lydia McAuley; brother in law Robert McAuley (Shirley), sister in laws Melinda O’Neal, Pat Craner and Mary Craner; numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda became a Christian at the age of 15 and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus. She was very faithful to Jesus and the church, serving as a librarian at Yates Thagard Baptist Church. Linda loved gardening, she grew flowers, fruits and vegetables and all things green. She made granola for her family and local restaurants. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren – she looked forward to seeing them and spending time with them. She loved the farm and spent most of her time with Rick enjoying it all.
