Lois Frye Culler, 93, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Lois was a native of Moore County and a graduate of Pinehurst High School. She received her Nursing degree from Sandhill Community College. Lois worked at Moore Regional Hospital and Samarkand Juvenile Detention Center. She traveled to many places as an Air Force wife. Lois enjoyed helping others, she volunteered her time at Mundo Vista Baptist Camp. She attended Southern Pines Baptist and Pleasant Hill Baptist until her health declined. Lois liked to cook and make sure everyone enjoyed a good meal. In her spare time she read, played Canasta, and completed crossword puzzles. Family was most important, and spending time with the grandchildren was treasured. She was a daughter of the late Lacy Newton and Laura Smith Frye and was preceded in death by husband Grady; grandson Lee; brother: Buck Frye; sisters: Lorena Monroe, Carolyn Frye.
Lois is survived by daughters: Kathy Elliott, of Southern Pines, Julia Stonehouse and husband Ken, of California; son: Gerald Culler, of South Carolina; grandchildren: Katrina, April, Crystal, Lorien; 10 great grandchildren and many friends.
Funeral Service will be held 1:30 PM , Sunday, August 8, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Southern Pines, NC., with the Reverend David Helms officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Southern Pines, NC.
