Margaret (Maggie) Messimer passed away peacefully in Southern Pines, North Carolina on the 18th of October, 2018 at the age of 92. Maggie was a long time resident of Southern Pines, North Carolina, having moved there in retirement to pursue her passion of golf. Maggie was born in 1926 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and lived in New York City while building her career in Human Resources.
Ms. Messimer is survived by her sister Anne Marie Healey (Tom) of Keeseville, New York as well as twenty-four nieces and nephews and their many offspring. She is predeceased by her parents: Robert Andrew Hetz and Mary Ellen Kelly Hetz, her brother Robert Andrew Hetz, Jr. as well as her sister, Elizabeth Julia Hetz Groark.
Maggie had many friends and was beloved by the staff at St. Joseph’s of the Pines and the family would like to acknowledge and thank them for their devotion.
A prayer service in celebration of her life will be held in the Health Center Chapel at St. Joseph’s of the Pines (103 Gossman Drive) on October 22nd, 2018 at 2pm.
Services are entrusted to Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
