Michael “Mike” Jarrell, age 82, of Southern Pines, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at his home with his wife by his side.
Mike was born in Atlantic, Georgia, on October 3, 1944, and was adopted by Ann Jarrell when he was six months old. The family moved to Charlo when he was six. He attended Chantily Elementary, Eastway Junior High and Garinger High School, graduating in 1963.
He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1964, and upon his discharge, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from East Carolina University. After graduation in 1972, he taught science and math at Contention Elementary in Kingston, North Carolina.
He left teaching and joined the Brick Industry in 1974 and retired from Triangle Brick Company as director of National Sales in 2008. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynne Jarrell, of the home, sister and nieces Sandy Moore of Indian Trail, North Carolina.
There will be a small private service at a later date.
