Nancy Carol Taylor Brown, age 78, of Carthage, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Duke University Hospital in Durham surrounded by her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 2:00PM at the Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Vass with Pastor Jeff Mitchell officiating. A time of visitation will immediately follow the service at the Funeral Home.
Nancy was born in Lee County on December 3, 1945 to the late Henry Lee Taylor and Vera “Mae” Jackson Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Lee Roy Taylor and grandchildren, Emily Lytle, Tony Ryan and James Michael Lytle.
She is survived by her sons, Kenny Lytle and wife Tammie of Carthage, Tony Lytle and wife Samantha of Carthage; grandchildren, Amy Ijames and husband Grant, Timothy Lytle and wife Kelly, Ashley Lindsay and husband Nathan; great-grandchildren, Leah, Riley, Maverick, Easton Beau, Isla, Deacon, Luke; sister, Sara Daurity and husband Connie of Sanford and companion, Jerry Lemmond of Sanford.
Nancy loved her family and enjoyed spending all the time she could with them. She loved her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Recently the great-grandchildren have brought her so much joy and one of the highlights of her week is hearing Baby Isla sing in church.
Nancy has always liked to be outdoors working with flowers, gardening, canning and fishing. She liked to read and was very good at sewing. She always loved to help people and was a giving person. She will be missed.
