Obituary for Patricia Ann Smith

Patricia Ann Smith (Patty) went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 6, 2023. She was 92 years old. Born to Harry Michael May and Marguerite King in Indianapolis, IN. After moving to San Francisco, CA, Patty met a young sailor stationed there who would become the love of her life. LG Olen (Bill) Smith and Patty would later marry after Bill returned from deployment in the Pacific. Together, the two returned to live in Robbins, NC to begin their life together. In the 37 years they were married, Patty and Bill worked at Milliken Textiles, later on at times alongside their two children Carolyn Smith Moore and David Smith, and even one grandchild, William Chriscoe. Patty lived the remainder of her life in Robbins with Bill preceding her in death in October 1985.

Patty was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Seagrove, NC where she taught Sunday School. She was an avid reader and who loved to keep her mind sharp by memorizing poems and doing crossword puzzles. Patty fell in love with southern cooking and became an accomplished cook and baker. Her quick wit and constant humor will be sorely missed by all those she leaves behind. Patty was dedicated to raising a family dedicated to loving one another and serving all those around them.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, as well as her daughter Carolyn Moore (John) of Ellerbe, NC. 

Patty is survived by her son, David Smith (Teresa), and their children Leslie Smith of Robbins and Ryne Smith (Kristen) of Bonlee, NC. She is also survived by two grandchildren, William Chriscoe of Seagrove, NC, and Eric Moore (Katie) of Durham, NC, as well as five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
