Veraleen Kremer, 89, of Pinehurst passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at her residence.
Veraleen, fondly known as “Cookie” was born June 7, 1934 in Campbell County, VA, the only child of William Blankenship and Sally Mason Blankenship.
She attended college at Virginia Tech studying Horticulture. She owned and operated a florist in Remington, VA. She and Pete moved to Pinehurst 17 years ago. Locally, she was active in her community. She was a member of the Dogwood Chapter of the Pinehurst Garden Club, the Women of Weymouth, and a member of the Silver Foils. She and Pete were members of Pinehurst Country Club and The Village Chapel.
She is survived by her husband R. Martin “Pete” Kremer; children, Lisa Austin (Andrew Budd) and David Austin (Allyson); three grandchildren, Lucia Page, Emilee Austin, Sarah Austin; one great-grandson William Page; stepson Kevin Kremer (Alyssa).
A celebration of life service will be held locally on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Boles Funeral Home, 425 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, Southern Pines and at a later date in Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to The Village Chapel, 35 Azalea Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
