Partners for Children calls on Moore County to honor teachers

Partners for Children & Families announced the launch of a novel program to honor all teachers in Moore County. Based on the annual Ever After Garden in London’s Grosvenor Square, residents of Moore County can honor teachers of all types beginning immediately.

Danielle Rose from Partners for Children states, “Teachers are unsung heroes, and Partners for Children would like to address that deficiency. Teachers illuminate our lives, and this program will call attention to teachers with a beautiful illuminated garden visible to all during the holiday season.”

Stuart Mills, executive director of Partners for Children states, “This is an opportunity to recognize child care providers, primary and secondary teachers in public, private and home schools, college professors and lecturers, Sunday school teachers, private music teachers, coaches and mentors. Adults can recognize their favorite teachers from childhood. Children can recognize their current teachers in the classroom today.”

Each teacher will receive a heartfelt message of gratitude. Each teacher will be included in an honor roll of teachers to be published on Christmas Eve.

Moore County residents are invited to visit the illuminated garden in the Pinehurst Village Green from Dec. 1-26. For our out-of-town honorees, Partners for Children will also share the Teachers’ Holiday Garden on social media platforms.

Mills said, “We are especially grateful to our teachers, including child care workers, at this time of year, and Partners for Children wants to raise them up with gratitude. We want to thank the Village Chapel in Pinehurst for making this possible. We aim to fill the Village Green over the holidays, beautiful by day and even more beautiful by night. Any net proceeds of the holiday garden will be used exclusively to prepare Moore County children for kindergarten.”

Residents of Moore County can dedicate a flower to their favorite teacher or teachers by contacting Partners for Children at 910-949-4045 or visiting the Partners website at www.pfcfmc.org/illuminate.
