A patient was airlifted Monday to an area trauma center, said Seven Lakes Fire & Rescue on Facebook.
Seven Lakes Drive in West End was closed, so UNC Carolina Air Care could land at the Seven Lakes fire station on Monday afternoon.
No patient information or the reason why the person needed care was provided by Seven Lakes Fire & Rescue, but they said first aid was provided on the scene by their crew and Moore County EMS before air care arrived at the fire department.
“This transpired as we had multiple units in several places on unrelated emergencies,” said Seven Lakes Fire and Rescue. “For this reason West End Fire and Rescue was requested by one of our officers on scene assisting with patient care to be dispatched to assist with securing a safe landing zone for the helicopter.”
Personnel with Moore County Sheriff’s Department helped closed the road.
“We want to extend our gratitude to both these agencies and Moore County EMS for the assistance today in providing care and safety to our community,” said Seven Lakes Fire & Rescue.
The condition of the patient is unknown at this time.
