Petro’s Chili & Chips is in the final stages of prepping its Southern Pines location and is set to open with drive-thru service on Thursday.
To celebrate the opening, the restaurant is offering half-priced Petro’s July 2 through July 12 and giving away one-hundred free Petro’s for a year by way of a raffle available for entry by all guests who visit between Thursday, July 2 and Sunday, July 5.
First emerging over 35 years ago during Knoxville’s 1982 World’s Fair, Petro’s Chili & Chips quickly became a global visitor favorite and remained a hometown hero long after the world went home. Now its fame is crossing state lines and planting new roots in North Carolina. Petro’s novel N.C. location is located conveniently in the heart of bustling Southern Pines on Highway 15-501 in the location which previously occupied Little Caesars pizzeria.
“We’ve been exploring opportunities in North Carolina for several years and we’re very excited when this space in Southern Pines became available,” said owner Curtis Hale. “We are looking forward to introducing our new neighbors to a delicious and unique brand that caters to many palates and lifestyles.”
The menu, which offers a wide array of options for guests, is most known for its “uniquely delicious” Petro. “What we want people to know is that it’s not about the chili… it’s about the Petro!” Hale explained.
The Petro features a base of chili, Frito chips, and an array of toppings that are customizable to each customer’s liking. The restaurant offers a variety of other menu choices including giant baked potatoes, made-to-order wedge salads, nachos, 100% angus beef hot dogs and more. With its customizable options, the menu easily satisfies a variety of lifestyle diets including gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, Paleo, and ketogenic — to name a few.
“We cannot wait to open our doors and share our menu with North Carolina,” said Hale. “It will be love at first bite… guaranteed!”
