Pinehurst Surgical Clinic announced they have received a three-year re-accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Accreditation distinguishes this surgical clinic from many other outpatient facilities through its adherence to rigorous standards of care and safety and excellence over time.

Founded in 1979, AAAHC is the leader in ambulatory health care accreditation, with more than 6,100 organizations accredited. They accredit a wide range of outpatient settings, including ambulatory surgery centers, office-based surgery facilities, clinics, and community health centers, among others.

“With patient safety, quality care, and surgical excellence as our primary focus to patient care, achieving AAAHC’s accreditation demonstrates that Pinehurst Surgical Clinic is in a constant state of readiness for our patient’s healthcare needs. This achievement was possible through a team of healthcare professionals led by Leslie Laws, COO, and Tiara Dennison, Quality Manager,” said Charles H. Gregg, CEO.

The self-assessment and onsite survey are conducted by AAAHC expert surveyors – physicians, nurses, and administrators who are actively involved in ambulatory care. The survey is peer-based and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.

While the onsite survey is an important component of the process, ongoing compliance and continuous improvement are part of the accreditation maintenance as well. The entire process involved all levels of staff which included physicians, nurses, human resources, and IT.

“Being part of a team that is dedicated to patient safety and the quality of care that we provide is an honor. Achieving our AAAHC certification truly shows the amazing group of people that work for PSC. This was truly a team effort,” said Tiara Dennison, MSN, RN, Quality Manager.
