The Town of Robbins had a discharge of untreated wastewater on Tuesday at approximately 7:00 a.m.

An estimated 6,800 gallons was discharged at the Main Pump Station, located on NC Highway 705 North close to Bear Creek, said the Town of Robbins in a news release. The untreated wastewater was discharged into an Bear Creek in the Cape Fear River Basin. The incident was resolved by 12:00 p.m.

The Main Pump Station was damaged in a flood during Hurricane Florence.

The plant is currently operating on a back up bypass pump until the plant is restored. The event was triggered by a high rain event Monday that caused moderate flooding throughout the community.
