Rassie Wicker Park will have limited hours beginning the end of August.
The park will be a temporary home for Pinehurst Elementary School while a new school is being built at the school’s current site on Dundee Road.
“Construction is anticipated to be completed in August on the temporary home for Pinehurst Elementary School at Rassie Wicker Park,” said the Village of Pinehurst. “As a result, public access to site amenities will be restricted during school hours beginning on Monday, August 26, 2019.”
During the hours of 7 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., the splash pad, playground, shelter area, restrooms, tennis courts, shuffle board, bocce ball courts, and the hockey rink will be closed for public use. The village said weekend use will not be affected.
The schedule below will be the new park hours once the school year begins.
~Restrooms open to the public from 4:30 p.m. to dusk.
~Playground open to the public from 4:30 p.m. to dusk.
~Splash Pad open to the public through 9/30 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
~Hockey Rink open to the public from 6 p.m. to dusk.
~Tennis Courts open to the public from 4:30 p.m. to dusk.
~Shuffleboard open to the public from 4:30 p.m. to dusk.
~Bocce Ball open to the public from 4:30 p.m. to dusk.
The walking trail will be open to the public, and the park will be open to Parks and Recreation sponsored activities.
The village said park signs will have the new hours listed.
