Rollover accident sends one to hospital

A rollover accident sent one person to the hospital Thursday.

Around 4:40 p.m, authorities received a call about a vehicle on its side in the woods. The accident happened on North Moore Road, near Carter Road, 2 miles outside of Robbins.

When authorities arrived on the scene, they found one patient trapped inside the vehicle.

A motorist that was passing by said, “I was heading from Robbins and seen a bumper on the side of the road. After looking closer, I noticed a car in the woods. I turned around and tried to help. He was trying to get out of the car himself, so I called 911.”

Air Care was placed on standby but was not needed. The patient was taken to Moore Regional Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

North Moore Road was closed from Reynolds Mill Road to Carter Road. The cause of the accident is being investigated by the State Highway Patrol.

This is the second rollover accident on the same day Sandhills Sentinel reported.

The first accident occurred just after 7 a.m. on Highway 15-501 and Red Branch Road, outside of Carthage.

The driver of a jeep wrangler lost control and rolled his vehicle over. The male patient was taken to Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst with non-life-threatening injuries.
