A two-vehicle collision near Vass Saturday night brought northbound traffic to a crawl. The crash happened just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 1 and Youngs Road.
According to authorities on scene, a Volvo traveling southbound attempted to turn left onto Youngs Road and pulled into the path of a Toyota 4Runner traveling north.
The collision caused the Volvo to spin around and stop against the road sign on the concrete median on Youngs Road. The male driver was not injured.
The Toyota rolled over and stopped on the shoulder of the road on its roof. None of its occupants, which included two small children, were injured.
The outside northbound lane of Highway 1 was shut down, as well as Youngs Road, while crews worked the scene and the vehicles were removed.
Highway Patrol was on the scene investigating the crash.
Responding to the scene were Cypress Pointe Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Vass Police Department and N.C. Highway Patrol.
Just before this crash happened, a more serious wreck involving four vehicles occurred near the Moore and Richmond County line, causing two people to be airlifted.
