No serious injuries were reported in a three-vehicle crash Saturday evening near Aberdeen Lake Park. The crash happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and West Maple Avenue and resulted in traffic delays on the highway.
According to authorities on scene, the crash happened just before 8 p.m. when a Lincoln SUV traveling south on U.S. 1 rear-ended a Chevrolet Equinox. The impact pushed the Equinox into the side of a Chevrolet pickup truck that was stopped at a stop sign, waiting to enter the highway.
At least one person was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to officials.
Traffic on U.S. 1 was delayed while first responders worked to investigate the incident, clear the scene of debris, and remove the vehicles from the roadway.
Aberdeen Police are investigating the crash. No further details have been released at this time.Â
Moore County EMS, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, and the Aberdeen Police Department responded to the scene.
