Sheriff announces arrest after Aberdeen search

An Aberdeen man faces numerous charges after being arrested by Moore County Sheriff’s Department.

“On September 19th, 2024, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 800 block of Aspen Street in Aberdeen, leading to the arrest of one individual,” said Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a statement to Sandhills Sentinel.

During the search, detectives seized suspected cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm.

Thirty-six-year-old Antwan Williams is facing charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substances, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

In addition to these charges, Williams was served with an outstanding warrant for arrest related to the alleged sale and delivery of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Williams is being held on a 48-hour hold, as mandated by HB813, which took effect last year. His first court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 26 in Moore County district court.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
