A fire destroyed a mobile home in the Eastwood community in West End on Thursday. The blaze started around 11:30 a.m. at the home in the 300 block of Pine Hill Road.

The firefighters were able to knock down the inferno, but the home is a total loss.
Authorities say a slow cooker started the fire, leaving two people and three cats without a home. No one was injured, and one cat has been found at the time of this article.

Eastwood, Pinehurst, Carthage, and Whispering Pines fire departments responded along with Moore County EMS and the Moore County Sheriff’s Department.
