A Southern Pines man is behind bars after he was arrested for 10 counts of drug related charges.
Southern Pines Police said in a news release they arrested Stacy Lamorris Pegues, 34, and charged him with possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (two counts) and manufacture/sell/deliver a controlled substance within 1000’ of a school.
Officers from the Southern Pines Police Department’s Special Response Team, along with officers from the Patrol and Investigations Division Monday executed a search warrant for Pegues’ home on West Indiana Avenue and seized cocaine, marijuana, drug packaging equipment, two semi-automatic handguns, over one hundred rounds of ammunition, and over $2,500.
“Investigators from the Southern Pines Police Department will be working closely with our federal law enforcement partners seeking additional federal charges,” said Southern Pines Police Department. “In addition, investigators will continue to pursue with the Moore County District Attorney’s Office the prosecution of Stacy Lamorris Pegues as a habitual felon.
Pergues was jailed under a $175,000 secure bond, has a March 14 court date, and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
