Surveys open to Moore residents to gather input for downtown Carthage

The Town of Carthage is seeking the public’s input on how to plan for the future of downtown. Town Planner, Jennifer Hunt, along with consultants Kimley-Horn and Koontz Jones Design, are leading efforts to study and design a long-term plan for revitalizing the heart of Carthage while making it easier to access for drivers and pedestrians.

There are two surveys now available on the town’s website, and because Carthage also serves as the Moore County seat, the surveys are available to anyone who works within, visits or uses downtown Carthage in any way.

There will be a number of in-person meetings offered to the public, but for those who cannot attend in person, two surveys are available online.

If substantial public input is achieved, the surveys will close at 4 p.m. on Dec. 22 so that the data may be analyzed after the holidays and plans developed for public presentation.

“We hope that you will share your thoughts with us through these surveys and join us for future public meetings when your schedule allows,” said the town on its website. “Each survey received will help ensure the Town of Carthage grows and changes in a way that is beneficial to all people who live, work and play in downtown.”
