Vehicle fire spreads to home in West End

A vehicle fire spread to a home and destroyed both Sunday night on Carthage Road in West End.

The call came in around 8 p.m. and was initially reported as a vehicle fire threatening a structure, according to radio traffic.

When crews arrived, they found a vehicle fully involved in flames. The fire then spread to the home.

The Moore County Fire Marshal told Sandhills Sentinel on scene that the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Both the vehicle and the home were destroyed. The front of the vehicle was badly burned, and the home sustained heavy damage, with melted siding and charred wood visible.

Duke Energy was also dispatched to the scene.

Responding units included Pinehurst Fire Department, Seven Lakes Fire Department, and Eastwood Fire Department.
