A woman escaped serious injury when she lost control of her van Saturday morning and ended up in a field. The accident occurred outside Aberdeen on Hwy 211 about a mile past Ashley Heights at 9:00 am.
Crews removed windshield
The female driver reported she was heading west towards Aberdeen when she lost control of the van and crossed over the eastbound lane. The sudden motion rolled the van on the driver side where it slid through some trees and into a field where it came to rest. Emergency crews had to remove the windshield to reach the woman who escaped with only minor injuries.
The driver reported a tire may have blown out causing her to lose control of the van. The NC State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
Responding to the scene were Pinehill Fire Department, Hoke County Rescue, and Hoke County EMS
