The Village of Pinehurst is asking residents who want to be actively involved in shaping the future of Pinehurst to consider serving on a new Think Tank group. Think Tank members will discuss issues and topics that have an impact on the future of Pinehurst during the update of the Long Range Comprehensive Plan.

They will also act as community ambassadors to gain broad-based citizen input during the 18-month planning process where residents define their vision and goals for the community.

Ideal applicants for the Think Tank are those who are passionate about the community and want to help shape the future of Pinehurst. They are open minded, willing to be a voice for others, positive about the outlook for Pinehurst, able to network with neighbors and friends, and willing to commit their time for the benefit of the community. Residents of Pinehurst and Pinehurst’s extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) are eligible to apply.

The Kickoff Meeting to officially begin the long range comprehensive planning process will be held on Wednesday, June 27th at 6:30 pm at the Pinehurst Fair Barn. The Think Tank will hold its first meeting in conjunction with the official Kickoff Meeting and up to seven (7) additional one-hour meetings throughout the next year.

Think Tank applications can be completed online at www.vopnc.org/thinktank and must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on May 31, 2018. A selection committee will review the applications and recommend 12 Think Tank members to the Village Council to represent the diverse needs of the community. The Village Council is expected to appoint Think Tank members in mid-June 2018.
