Two individuals in a Corvette collided with an 18-wheeler on Highway 211 next to the 73 intersection around 1 p.m. Saturday.
Highway Patrol on the West End scene stated that the driver was being reckless as the car exited a nearby parking lot, drifted, and lost control of the vehicle. The oncoming tractor trailer crushed the hood of the Corvette, causing extensive damage.
Both the driver and the 15-year-old passenger were immediately rushed to Moore County Regional Hospital with unknown conditions. Initially, air care was requested but was grounded due to windy weather conditions.
Rockwell Towing towed the 18-wheeler from the scene. West End Fire and Rescue responded to the scene along with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
