The previous day, around 3 p.m., the Southern Pines Police Department was called to the 500 block of S. Carlisle Street after shots were fired at a residence.
According to Southern Pines Police Chief Nick Polidori, another shots-fired call occurred at the same residence around 9 p.m. the same day.
“This is not a random act,” said Polidori in an email to Sandhills Sentinel about the ongoing investigation.
No one was injured, and no arrest has been made yet.
It is unclear if the Southern Pines shooting is related to the Aberdeen shooting, but it is not being ruled out.
This is the fourth Moore County shooting in 39 days that Sandhills Sentinel has reported on.
