Mother and children transported after Eagle Springs wreck

A mother and her two children were transported by EMS after their vehicle was rear-ended on Friday night. The crash happened on Highway 24/27 on the outskirts of Eagle Springs shortly before 8:30 p.m.

According to authorities on scene, both vehicles were traveling eastbound at the time of the crash. The family of three’s Toyota hybrid slowed down to turn left onto Eta Bell Road when it was struck from behind by a Toyota Prius that failed to stop in time.

The couple in the Prius were uninjured, though their vehicle sustained damage, including a cracked windshield and deployed airbags. As a precaution, firefighters sprayed down the car battery in the trunk after observing smoke.

The family of three reported non-life-threatening injuries.

Robbins Fire Department, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and Moore County EMS responded to the scene.
