The Town of Aberdeen announced it had a discharge of untreated wastewater on Aug. 8 of an estimated 8,000 gallons near the intersection of N. Sandhills Blvd and Bion Butler Road.
The untreated wastewater was discharged into Aberdeen Creek.
The Town Utilities Department was notified of the events at approximately 6 p.m. on the same day.
“All efforts to mitigate the wastewater release were taken. The system returned to normal service at approximately 9:00 PM, and cleanup/sanitizing efforts were conducted,” said Aberdeen Utilities Operations Manager Brandon Mills in a press release.
