Today U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08), the representative of Fort Bragg, released the following statement congratulating Maj. Gen. Laura J. Richardson, the next deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Forces Command and the first female Army officer to officially serve in this role:
“I’d like to congratulate Maj. Gen. Laura J. Richardson for her confirmation to serve as the deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Forces Command. Maj. Gen. Richardson has the exact qualifications, qualities and distinguished career to lead this crucial command. I have every confidence she will continue to excel in her new role and I look forward to working with her to help ensure our soldiers are prepared and ready to meet the challenges we face.
