The Town of Aberdeen graduated 13 citizens who took part in the Citizens Academy Program.
This year’s graduates are Keith Clark, Cathy McLean, Kristy Ransdell, Angela McDaniel, Kelly Nahra, Christian Crumpton, John Frohock, Lauren Norman, Koral Loehner, Annalise O’Connor, Daniel Behnke, Vickie Auman, and Katherine Weber.
According to the Town’s website, “The goals of the Academy are to provide individuals with a better understanding of the Town’s municipal services, the council-manager form of government, and the challenges local governments face” and to “help move those new leaders into important positions within the community.”
The program consists of three two-hour meetings that provide an overview of the town government and what the various departments are responsible for. The class size is limited to 15 people who are selected on a first-come-first-served basis.
There is no cost to the participants, but the Town strongly encourages the attendees to commit the time to attend each program.
