Authorities arrest 2 drug charges Eagle Springs

A man and woman were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in Eagle Springs, said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a statement on Monday.

Jolee Mercer, 32, of Eagle Springs, and Lewis Pratt, 30, of Candor, were arrested Saturday when Moore County Deputies pulled both vehicles over “in the 700 block of Possum Holler Road.”

Deputies searched the vehicles and seized 154 grams of MDMA/Molly, 22 grams of methamphetamine, 1.4 grams of cocaine, 2.4 grams of heroin, 8 dosage units of Buprenorphine and Naloxone, 1 dosage unit of Hydrocodone, drug paraphernalia, and $1,508 in cash.

Mercer was charged with possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was placed under a $10,000 bond.

Pratt was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule I-controlled substance, felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, trafficking in MDA/MDMA by possession, trafficking in MDA/MDMA by transport, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, possession of heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule III-controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substance, simple possession of schedule III-controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $75,000.

Both suspects are scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on September 24 and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
