Authorities searching for missing Eagle Springs man

UPDATE: According to Deputy Chief Andy Conway with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, the man was found deceased, and no foul play is suspected.


Authorities are searching for a missing Eagle Springs man.

Authorities described the missing person as an 81-year-old white male with gray hair and no signs of cognitive decline. A photograph and the name of the man were not provided to Sandhills Sentinel at the scene.

The Martin Road resident was last seen Tuesday afternoon when he left for a walk. His family reported him missing when he failed to come back.

A command center was set up on Wednesday at 1 p.m. near the man’s home with a check-in center at the Eagle Springs Fire Department.

The search team consists of the Eagle Springs Fire Department, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and the Samarcand ALE at the time of publication.
