The Thanksgiving morning tradition continued Thursday as the Moore County Hounds gathered on Buchan Field in Southern Pines as they have done since 1914.
Hundreds of spectators gathered to see dozens of huntsman in formal red and black riding coats and white pants accompanied by scores of hounds enter the field.
Then, Reverend Dr. John Jacobs from The Village Chapel blessed the hounds in a centuries-old tradition before the hounds dashed off into the woods, followed by riders on a mock fox hunt.
