Pinewild Country Club of Pinehurst has officially broken ground on Azalea Place, a new 77-home luxury neighborhood located within the private gates of Pinewild. The development marks the first major club-based homebuilding program in Pinehurst in more than 10 years and is a cornerstone of Pinewild’s ongoing transformation under new ownership.
“Azalea Place reflects a new kind of lifestyle that today’s homebuyers are looking for—elegant, low-maintenance homes in communities where life feels simpler, richer, and more connected,” said Clegg Wellborn, COO of Pinewild Builders LLC and GM of Homebuilding at IE Homes LLC. “It’s about building the life you want to live, not just a house.”
Home sales in Azelea Place will launch Labor Day weekend. Prices begin in the low $1 million range for homes between 2,600 and 3,800 square feet.
Azalea Place is just one part of Pinewild’s broader plan to grow and elevate the club community, launched following the club’s acquisition by IE Homes, Clubs, and Resorts LLC in late 2023. The multi-phase plan includes a forthcoming $18 million clubhouse renovation as well as a long-term infrastructure refresh across amenities.
Last month, Pinewild named Curtis Proctor – a former superintendent at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club – as its new director of golf course maintenance, overseeing all 48 holes at the growing club community.
